Breaking News: Our current session of Basic Level 1 classes (April 7 - May 5) is SOLD OUT!!. We will no longer be accepting registrations for this class. As of 4/7, we do still have a few openings in our Essentials of Tribal Bellydance class beginning this Wednesday, April 9, but it is filling fast!

Thanks to everyone's generosity and good will, we raised over $1700 at the Darfur benefit!! Thanks so much to everyone who volunteered their time, talent and goods to make this event so phenomenal. This money will surely make a tremendous difference in the lives of women and children who are in such dire circumstances.

May 31, Props Choreography Workshop 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Academy for the Performing Arts, 115 Commerce Street, Apex, NC.
Have a prop that you have been dying to put to good use? Want to expand your choreography repertoire with something new and exciting? Then this is the workshop for you! Bring your own prop; a very limited number of props will be available to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis. Props can include swords, pots, baskets, bowls, pitchers- if you can balance it, you can use it! Space for this workshop will be quite limited so don't delay in sending in your registration if you are interested in attending.We will no longer accept any registrations once we have reached capacity.
All workshop attendees will be invited to perform this choreography at our Summer Hafla to be held on June 28!

Doors open at 7:00 PM, performances scheduled to start at 7:30 PM.
Blue Moon Dance Company proudly presents its Summer 2008 Hafla: "Let's Give Props to Props!" Performances featuring props are strongly encouraged but not required. N.B.: No open flames, live animals or strewn objects will be permitted. We would love to see a creative and diverse representation of the use of props at this hafla, so think outside the box- or veil!! Due to their popularity, performance slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. All performances are limited to 5 minutes. There will also be plenty of open dancing and drumming. Musicians are most welcome! Triangle belly dance teachers: please feel free to bring your students. All members of the Triangle belly dance community are welcome! Light refreshments will be served.
Our haflas have sold out in advance in the past so mark your calendars and register/prepay early to assure entry. Doors will close once we are full.

As always, performances and Halloween themed attire are encouraged but not required. Musicians are most welcome! Triangle belly dance teachers: please feel free to bring your students. All members of the Triangle belly dance community are welcome. Light refreshments will be served, and there will be plenty of open dancing and drumming. November 8, Tribal Seminar in Morganton, 645 First St, Mountainview Recreation Center, Morganton, NC, 10:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
Rising Sun Tribe is hosting a seminar by Blue Moon Dance Company followed by a Benefit & Belly Dance Show that evening!
10:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Tribal Bellydance Combinations. Whether you are a newcomer to or a seasoned veteran of tribal style belly dance, this workshop will be a perfect opportunity to experience the grace, beauty and power of this dance genre. Several dynamic and fun short moves and combinations will be taught, along with the cues and transitional moves necessary to put them together seamlessly either in improvisation or choreography. Suitable for all levels.
1:30 – 4:30 PM: Blue Moon Dance Company Signature Choreography. Blue Moon is known for their elegant yet lively choreographies, and this workshop will be no exception! It will feature an original choreography that showcases the best of tribal dance, and will incorporate several of the combinations that will be taught in the morning workshop. Just bring yourself and your sense of fun - this will be one jam-packed 3 hours! Suitable for all levels.
