LUNA has been taking classes and workshops with Blue Moon Dance Company for several years. Luna enjoys the unpredictability and excitement of improvisational performances as well as the experience of learning and performing creative new choreographies. Luna is particularly grateful for some of the wonderful friendships she has made in the belly dance community and hopes to continue dancing with her friends well into her old age.
KELLY's first dance experience was with Blue Moon in 2007. She still enjoys learning from her fabulous instructors, Nandana and Sashi. She also performs as a member of Syzygy. Improv is what attracted her to this style of belly dance. At haflas, she loves being able to dance with both friends and strangers and move together in such a beautiful way. She feels very lucky to have such a supportive belly dance community in the area.
MARCIA's belly dance experience started in 2006 with a class from Amara. This class rekindled Marcia's love for dance and introduced her to the local belly dance community. She made the switch to tribal style after a workshop with Blue Moon Dance Company. She has been hooked ever since. She loves to perform with her BMDC classmates, has formed Syzygy with friends Bettina and Kelly, and loves dancing with her new Bella Luna dance sisters! Blue Moon, Awalim, Torque, and Gypsy Caravan are huge influences. Marcia would like to thank her husband Andy and her family for their encouragement and support! Photo by Megan Freeman.
NATALIE has been bellydancing for several years. She fell in love with Tribal/ATS after taking classes with Nandana. "This is the most challenging form of dance I have ever learned and that is why I love it. The best part of this experience is the opportunity to meet so many talented, interesting and supportive women."
TERESA happened upon Belly Dance in 2007. She started this journey in hopes of finding a new creative outlet. The history and culture of this art form was also of great interest to her. She has studied various styles of belly dance with many local teachers. Teresa also has had the privilege of attending workshops with many noted international teachers and performers. " A big thank you to all of the amazing women with in the Belly Dance community you are a big inspiration to me"
VANESSA has taken classes with Blue Moon for 5yrs. She has taken workshops with Rachel Brice, Zoe Jakes, Mardi Love, Ariellah, Yasmine of Magic Hips & Nayna of The Spirit of Lotus. She likes the earthy costuming, the friendships & sense of community tribal dance inspires
